What is the true Point of an Application, Anyway?

Exactly What is the true point of the college application? This may be a question you’ve asked yourself either out of reflection or perhaps frustration if you’ve started working on your applications. We ask you for an application you and get a sense of how you may thrive academically and personally at USC because we want to get to know. We do not have enough time to sit back and talk to every applicant one on one so you are asked by us to provide us with a variety of information to try and gain an awareness of who you are. As you finish your applications, ask yourselves if the content reflects who you really are, not simply as a student but also as a person.
Composing a statement that is personal stressful. Up until this point, we’m guessing most high school students have only written academic papers. You have been asked to analyze works of fiction, economic trends, historic activities, etc. but likely nobody has sat you down and asked one to reveal your self. Given the goal is to give admission counselors an awareness of your self, be authentic and genuine in tone and content. Write about items that are important to you. This really is mostly for sophomores and juniors, as seniors have obviously already written and perfected their essays (right!?).
